But as Florence is renowned for its Renaissance era works of art, this gallery has been overlooked by many people. Familiar works by Gauguin, Cezanne and Grassi can be found here and many others who adopted French techniques.

The Baptistery

In Florence Baptistery is one of the oldest monuments. It is so old that its date is not really known. The doors are gilded in bronze and are a piece of art in itself, dating back to the 14th and 15th century.

The Horne Museum

The Horne Museum is a blend history of life with art, during the Italian Renaissance. This museum was named after Herbert P. Horne an English art collector. Its architecture itself with accessories and furnishing reflect the rich art of this era. Artworks include pieces from Orvieto, Cafaggiolo and Urbino.These artistic work ranges from the14th to 17th century.

The Silver Museum

Silver Museum has an interesting collection of sculptures, and objects from diverse dynasties. Its collection ranges from Medici through Lorraine. It is a great mélange of various gems, pieces of jewellery, various art objects and semi-precious stones. All these master pieces are from the period in history where extravagance and rich life were a norm. Lorenzo’s collection of vases is one of the most valuable pieces in this museum.
